Truth Be Told

Truth be told: I love my husband.
Truth be told: I like my house - can't wait til everything is done and I can love it.
Truth be told: The house is really too big for just the two of us.
Truth be told: I'm a fortune teller!

So remember back in my December post, when it was my 6th anniversary and I poured my heart out all over the internet?

When my husband read it, the part that touched him the most was: One day, when we are blessed with our own children, I know you'll be a great father and give them an equal balance of love and disipline.

Truth be told, it wasn't too long after that that we found out we were expecting. Yes, that's right: Miles will finally have the blessing of becoming a father and teaching his children about life and respect and how to be responsible. Most importantly, he'll be able to share his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

Some of you are aware that the road to parenthood has been a long and painful one for us. Not as long and painful as others, I know, but every road is long when you can't see the end. After having waited almost a year to conceive, we suffered a loss through a miscarriage and not being able to conceive again, we started fertility treatments 2 years later. We went through all the invasive and embarassing tests one has to subject themselves to in order to find out whether or not they are 'compatible' and 'a viable host'.

Fortunatly for us, we had a very compassionate fertility doctor who made sure to explain everything to us. Turns out Miles' swimmers are Olympic grade, and I had no issues holding them. So...what's the problem then? Sometimes, as faith has taught me, it's just all about timing. Not yours, but Heavenly Father's, and if you have patience and put your trust in Him, He will bless you.

Well, bless us He has! Not only are we now expecting a baby to join our little family, God has seen fit to make up for the first loss by providing us with two this time around. WHAT??

Truth be told: yes, we are having TWINS.

So stay tuned for the journey and adventures that lie ahead, for there are sure to be many!

  5. It's so great to get caught up with you guys on here and congrats again on the pregnancy! I kinda know how it feels to go through so much work to get kiddos here as I have experienced 3 miscarriages since we have been married. No fun at all. But all that heart ache is worth it for that one (or two!) sweet little baby that blesses your life! So happy for y'all!
